We have:
Uniformed police in marked cars.
Plain clothed police in unmarked cars.
Uniformed police on bicycles.
but we don't have plain clothed police on bicycles. When I rode from Scarborough to Ballajura to help my mum last weekend, I was astounded by the number of cars tooting their horn without reason except they didn't anticipate moving out to pass me till it was too late. The other traffic violations included passing my vehicle (albeit a bicycle) in the middle of an intersection. A plain clothed policeman on a cycle could easily radio the highway patrol to book errant car drivers.
