A couple of years ago, my spouse noticed an uncomfortable lump in her left breast. We consulted with our local Doctor which resulted in an agonising experience with a mammogram. I still squirm when I remember the agonized cries from within the examination room as her tender breast was squeezed to the requisite 10 mm needed to get an accurate picture.
I subsequently found that there's a new way to check young women without this barbaric method. Its called "BREAST CHECK". The clinic is in Mosman Park - St Leonards Street, just opposite Mosman Park railway station. Its completely none invasive, using "Bio-Impedance" and Thermal Imaging. Their website is www.breastcheck.com.au Tel : 08 9385 0938 It's an all women clinic, everyone is very kind and gentle and you could come away from there reassured without ever having to go near those horrible and potentially painful and dangerous radiation examinations. Check it out. Or call me, Geoff Negus, on Mob: 0431 066 583 Tel: 08 9443 5003 |

It occurs when the cells lining the milk ducts (the channels in the breast that carry milk to the nipple) become cancerous, but stay contained within the ducts without growing through into the surrounding breast tissue.

A also vouch for Dr Alex Boyd and her dedicated staff at Breastcheck.
Research indicates that populations with access to mammograms have no better breast cancer mortality rates than populations with no mammograms. In other words, although we all know people who have had benefit from a mammogram, when you look at the broader population there is apparently no difference. Does this mean that the brutal process of mammography is for some women cancelling the benefit of early diagnosis? This is my suspicion. Dr Boyd's gentle, non-invasive breast diagnostics are capable of discovering the most infinitesimal pre-malignant changes, combining earliest possible diagnosis with the safest possible procedures. She has women travelling from all over Australia to her busy clinic, and yet has found time to begin a charitable foundation to support breast health in South Africa. This is a remarkable woman! The clinic phone number is 9385 0938 and the address is 16 St Leonards Ave, Mosman Park. -------------------- "Knowledge is not enough, we must do. Willing is not enough, we must act." Bruce Lee
