Small Business Minister Margaret Quirk today announced the appointment of Caterina (Kitty) Prodonovich to the board of the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC).
Speaking in State Parliament, Ms Quirk welcomed the appointment of Ms Prodonovich and said she would bring a wealth of experience to the SBDC board.
“Kitty is a well-known business figure from Kalgoorlie, having owned and operated several small businesses and helped many others through her work with the Regional Chamber of Commerce,” the Minister said.
“As the newest and youngest member of the SBDC board, Kitty was also the winner of the Goldfields Young Achiever Award in 1994 and the Goldfields Business of the Year in 2002.”
Ms Prodonovich was born in Kalgoorlie and grew up in Perth. She returned to Kalgoorlie in 1991 and bought her first, very successful business, Nibblers Cafe. This was followed by another successful business venture, the Akudjura Restaurant.
“Kitty broke new ground when she first joined the Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce at the age of 22,” Ms Quirk said.
“She went on to become the youngest executive member of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the immediate past president. She is currently the president of the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Western Australia.
